Interested in Adopting?
The Process
Browse our available pets in our Facebook photo albums or here on the website. If you have any questions about a specific animal or would like to meet a pet before you decide, fill out the contact form below. Please indicate in the message box which animal you are inquiring about.
You can fill out the adoption application at anytime. PLEASE NOTE: Our fosters always have first choice, so some animals listed as "Available Soon" may not come up for adoption, for example, upcoming kittens.
Our adoption application form is the pdf icon located to the left or found here. Click the icon and download the adoption application. You can either print and mail in the application or email it to: 1adoptions@gmail.com
Information
Most of our pets are in foster care. While some of our fosters allow visits at their home, others prefer to have their foster pets meet their potential forever families at one of our adoption events. Pets can always be immediately adopted at our events. Though meeting at a foster's home sometimes requires additional contact with the Humane Society of Northern Utah to arrange signing of the contract and payment of the adoption fees. Adoption fees can also be sent via Venmo at @hsnu-rescue or through our donation form.
Adoption fees are as follows (check pages for specials):
Kittens: (up to 6 months old) $90 or $150 for two.
Adult Cats: (1 year old through 9 years old) $60 or $100 for two.
Senior Cats: (10 years old and older) $30 or $50 for two (free to adopters age 65+)
Puppies: (8 weeks old to 1 year old) $300*
Adult Dogs: $200*
Senior Dogs: (10 years old and older) $75*
*Unless otherwise noted in the puppy or dog's description.

$10 discount for military, front line health care workers and
first responders (ID required).
Please note not all of our pets are taken to adoption events. If there is a specific pet you would like to meet, please contact us to be certain that pet is brought to the event you are attending. Thank you!
Though we want all our animals to find a home, please remember that all animals adopted from HSNU are returnable at any time if they aren't a match in your home and returning them to us is required by contract. Please respect the money, time, effort, and love that our volunteers put into the animals in their care by abiding by the contract.
