The Adoption Process
Welcome to our adoption program! Most of our lovable pets are currently in foster care, and while some fosters invite you to their homes for visits, others prefer to meet potential forever families at our adoption events where pets can be adopted immediately.
If you decide to meet at a foster's home, please coordinate with the Humane Society of Northern Utah for signing the contract and adoption fees, which can be paid via Venmo at @hsnu-rescue or through our donation form.
Remember, not all pets attend adoption events, so if you have a specific pet in mind, please contact us to ensure they are at the event you’re attending.
You can browse available pets in our Facebook photo albums or right here on our website. If you have any questions about a specific animal or would like to meet one before making a decision, please fill out the contact form below and let us know which animal you're interested in.
Though we want all our animals to find a home, please remember that any animal adopted from HSNU is returnable at any time. If they aren't a match in your home, returning them to us is required by contract. Please respect the time, effort, investment, and love that our volunteers put into the animals in their care by abiding by the contract.

Applications are approved on a first-come, first-served basis, so the first approved application with adoption fees paid gets priority. Please remember that submitting an application does not guarantee adoption of a specific animal.
Our fosters have first choice, so some animals listed as "Available Soon," like upcoming kittens, may NOT become available for adoption.

Fee Information
Fees are as follows:
The new rates are as follows:
Kittens (up to 1 year) will be $125 each, 2 for $225, or 3 for $350
Adult cats will be $95 each or 2 for $170
Senior cats (over 10 years) will be $30
Discounts:
$200 bundle for one adult and one kitten
Senior cats can be adopted for free by those aged 65+
$10 discount for military personnel and first responders with ID
