Holly

FEMALE, ADULT

Momma Holly came to us as an owner surrender. She came with her 9 puppies. Holly was extremely emaciated and our first priority was to get some weight on her. She is a very sweet dog that was super scared and timid when she first got to her foster home. Along with a good diet we made it our mission to get her to start wagging her tail. She has come out of her shell a lot and will greet people now willingly and excitedly. She may be a little shy still getting used to her new situation. She has gained weight and raised her babies and wants her own loving home to just relax and live the good life. She was absolutely terrified to come inside her foster home, so she was likely an outdoors only dog. She hasn't had any accidents inside yet but we are not totally convinced she is housetrained. With all the puppies we make a LOT of trips outside so she has had plenty of potty breaks. She will go into a kennel and only fusses about it for a minute. She is learning to walk on a leash and her basic commands. When she first came she barked and wanted to chase cats, her foster mom has cats so she had plenty of exposure and time with them and has learned that they are actually a little scary. She also had no interest in the chickens at her foster home. She loves her toys. We don't think she has ever had one before. She is smart, treat motivated and so excited to be with her people that she learns fast. Holly has had a rough life. She really needs a soft bed and a friendly hand to help her enjoy her puppy free life.
